TurboHawk Plaque Excision System

The TurboHawk  Peripheral Plaque Excision System for Endovascular and Surgical Use is the newest addition to the SilverHawk  family of products. TurboHawk is the result of ev3's dedication to superior performance in the treatment of Peripheral Arterial Disease (P.A.D.). The breakthrough innovation of the TurboHawk platform allows physicians to remove the disease to maximize lumen gain, minimize barotrauma and preserve future treatment options. As the industry leader in atherectomy, ev3 is dedicated to helping patients achieve fuller lives.

Super Cutter Blade
The TurboHawk Super Cutter provides physicians with a frontline plaque excision solution for any ATK lesion morphology - including heavy calcium.1
Unmatched versatility is delivered by combining the Super Cutter blade with an improved drive shaft and catheter jog. Designed to treat moderately to severely calcified lesions in varying vessel diameters.

  • 4 angled cutter blades added for Super Cutter performance
  • Innovative cutter design addresses all plaque morphologies including moderatly to severe calcified lesions
  • Efficient cutting action vs. sanding or chipping tough calcified lesions

Smooth Cutter Blade
The TurboHawk Smooth Cutter delivers the platform advancements of TurboHawk for the treatment of mild-to-moderately calcified lesions with the added convenience of on-the-wire cleaning.
  • Features convenient on-the-wire cleaning to remove mild-to-moderately calcified plaque

TurboHawk Platform Advancements:

Turbo catheter jog -
  • Consistently cuts across a wider vessel range which reduces the need for multiple catheters, potentially reducing procedure costs
  • Versatile dual-jog configuration is effective in vessels 3.5 - 7.0 mm
    • Controls maximum apposition force in smaller vessel diameters
    • Improves cutter apposition force in increasing vessel diameters

Turbo drive shaft -
  • New four-layered, counter-wound drive shaft delivers more power to the cutting blade
  • More efficient energy transfer improves cutting performance
  • Smoother passes with less effort to cut through the lesion

MEC Technology
-
  • SilverHawk Micro Efficient Compression (MEC) Technology
  • Tiny laser drilled holes in the nosecone release fluid and allow greater tissue collection

1Hard, complex calcified lesions require a surgical approach, due to the potential risk of distal embolization.
